About us

The POD Initiative is deeply connected to men's mental health in the Doncaster community. We provide a supportive and accessible environment where individuals can connect, share, and grow. It started with a desire to create something that wasn't daunting for people to join. They can bring a friend, a family member, their kids and even dogs. It gives partners a break but also helps the men/dads to get out and speak to other men in the community.

Our approach

The POD Initiative's approach to personal development differs from other programmes because we have no agenda, which makes talking so much easier and more open. Like-minded men in the group are both the solution and mastering their own minds at the same time. A group of men and dads discussing daily life has a huge benefit to your mental health without even knowing it. We focus on empowering personal development using your mind and opening yourself up to new perspectives. It's about creating a space where support is organic and growth is inevitable.

Our impact

In the Doncaster community, we have 30 members in the group, and it's had a huge impact on men and dads, with many saying they were stuck in work mode, too tired, or couldn't be bothered. Yet, having a small walk with like-minded men has given them a fresh perspective. This exemplifies how The POD Initiative positively impacts individuals by providing a supportive network and encouraging personal growth. We are committed to replicating this success in Doncaster and beyond, fostering a community where men feel empowered to prioritise their mental well-being.

Future goals

Our goals are to support men in the mental health space. We want to become a private business that supports counselling services and, who knows, maybe a clothing brand to support revenue for free counselling services for certain people. By expanding our services and exploring sustainable funding models, we aim to create a lasting positive impact on men's mental health in Doncaster and beyond.
